Kaweco, AL Sport, Stonewashed Blue

I ordered the Stonewashed blue in a fine nib. It wrote perfect right out of the box with the supplied blue ink cartridge. I found the nib to be quite smooth, with a line thickness I would expect in a fine. I do not often like pens with metal grips as my hands sweat and I find them slippery, however, the satin-like finish feels great and I do not find the pen to be slippery at all.
The pen cap posts very well and slides on smoothly. For me the pen would be too short for my preference if I could not not post it. I could still write I posted, but it would only for jotting quick notes.
I love the look of the pen and I especially like the feel of the finish. I expected that it might be rough, but it is not. This pen is like that pair of well worn jeans, faded with a worn look, but oh so comfortable! I know I will get a lot of use from this pen and it will most definitely go in my rotation!

I am a big fan of the Kaweco Classic Sport and Skyline so this pen just seemed like a next step for me and I am so glad I bought it. The size is small but perfect for me as I can carry it around it the front pocket of my jeans and I don't have to worry about it getting cracked and leaking ink all over the place. It is quite a bit heavier than the Classic Sport or Skyline but not uncomfortably so. It has good balance when posted and is not at all top heavy. The material makes it quite durable and it can stand up to quite a bit of abuse in the course of daily use and the already tumbled/distressed finish means you don't notice the new scratches.
